Zakat is a Duty to Prevent the Wrath of Allah
The valuable help provided by zakat benefits the less privileged people based on the pillars of Islam which is pleasing to Allah. The pillar of Islam is mentioned 80 times to show its importance of giving a portion of an individual’s wealth to the less fortunate people. The commandments in the Quran specified the principle of taking out 2.5 percent of an Islamic believer’s total wealth and possessions after removing the basic expenses for a decent living. It is not just the value of sharing but a method to purify the wealth and possessions of the believer so as to create bigger space for more wealth. Zakat is usually remitted during the period of Ramadan wherein it can be purchased for animal sacrifice to be able to feed the poor people. Other than this period, it is also allowed to remit the amount to a trusted Zakat collector or a reliable foundation with worldwide noble programs for the less fortunate people. In whatever method of remittance, Zakat payment must be dutifully made so as not to face the wrath of Allah.
